Midwest Region Gives Back to the St.Louis Shalom House

The Midwest Region recently took time out of their annual Regional Operations Meeting (ROM) to volunteer at St. Louis’s Shalom House, a non-profit organization specializing in working with homeless women with mental illness and chemical dependency. It’s the only organization of its kind in St. Louis and one of a dozen or so in the US. Shalom House stabilizes

We are proud to say that our company has always looked for opportunities to give back to our communities and nonprofit organizations. Our work has allowed us to revitalize and restore great buildings and architecture across the united states, but we want to make sure we give back to our communities as well. We couldn’t be more thrilled to acknowledge our Midwest Region for recently taking time out of their annual Regional Operations Meeting (ROM) to volunteer at St. Louis’s Shalom House. Shalom House is a non-profit organization specializing in working with homeless women with mental illness and chemical dependency. It’s the only organization of its kind in St. Louis and one of a dozen or so in the US. Shalom House stabilizes and rebuilds these women’s lives by providing emergency shelter, transitional housing and they even help the women get their own permanent housing. Mid America Specialty Services was able to give back by taking furniture that had been donated, and moving it into “showrooms” where the women could come in and pick out their furniture for their apartment. We also were able to paint an entire room at a local Church that will be used as a recording studio for teens. It was a great day and everyone enjoyed serving the community and the ladies of Shalom House. If you’re looking to make a career change and work for a company that gives back to it’s community, we would love to hear from you. Check out our current positions.
